Which is the best clothes store in the town? Where to visit during holidays? How to write Science assignment? For any kinds of such details people turn to one trustworthy medium, Search engines. Lot many searches are carried on the search engines by the people of the world for their various needs. However, on the broader terms these searches can be categorized into three main types:
- 1.Informational Search
- 2.Navigational Search
- 3.Transactional Search
The transactional search is rare in comparison to the other two and this at times leads to a major question for SEO’s and website owners regarding the to the allocation of budget and time for this and other kind of searches. However, one important point to consider here are that all the searches together leads to transactional search in most of the cases. This is because no searcher directly goes for purchasing. He/she searches for more information or offers on the product and then decides to buy it.
Transactions are achieved through the informational and navigational queries. This is not new for an expert SEO as they know that the informational queries are made before buying any product or service online. The amount of time spent on informational search depends on the product that is to be bought for instance the more costly the product, the more time it takes in its search. These kinds of costly products generally involve products such as insurance policies, electronic items and so on.
For example, a person seeking to buy health insurance will for sure not believe the first displayed insurance website on the search engine as ‘the best’ as all insurance companies claims their policies to the best. So a person researches the insurance policies with various keywords. For another search let’s take suppose that a diabetic patient needs to take his/her pills regularly and seeking to find a medical store that is open for 24 hours. Such a candidate would simply take down the addresses and phone number and would not go for a lengthy search. Here the intent of the searcher is purely transactional but the keywords used by them are not.
This makes it essential for the search engines to predict the searcher’s intent while searching for providing them with the best results.
