Switching To New Corporate Identity Design Is Evolution Of The Brand Image Not Revolution
Posted By - Mark Spenser

Corporate identity has assumed much importance in today’s world as it primarily deals with the visual aspects of the company’s presence. However, there is a marked difference between corporate identity and brand image. Brand image is all about the perception about your product in the minds of consumers. This perception is developed on the basis of the consumer experience of using your product.

Corporate identity includes logo design and other collaterals and therefore, making changes in them is not at all fatal to the company’s core image. Most of the times, the companies believe that making changes in the logo design and so on will harm their market reputation. But this is not the case; in fact, it helps in building a stronger image in the market as you design it according to the modern times. For instance, the logo of Pepsi has changed several times over the year, so is true for the Nike and many others.

Changes in the outlet, logos, and signage do not result into change in consumer perception provided if the logo is not completely transformed into something else. The key to successfully implementing the change in the logo or signage is by evolving the old one with a new look and feel rather than revolutionizing it entirely. The new look will encourage the new customers and the existing customers would be delighted by the new trendy look.  Besides this, it will also help the company in improving their brand image and face the competition with more might. Thus, revising logo design will help the company in branding corporate identity.

One of the most important things to care about while making change in the corporate identity is that you don’t change the logo entirely as it might arise many doubts in the mind of the customers. When a company prefers to change its logo completely there is a change in ownership or if there are changes in the brand values of it. Therefore, make sure that the logo design is not changed so much so that the consumers are confused about your brand identity or brand image.
