What Is Quality Content According To SEO Standards
Posted By - Mark Spenser

Search Engine Optimization has become an inevitable activity these days and it is one of the essential parts of all online business. For successful organic SEO, we generally call Content as King. We come across lot many article that discuss about quality content but let’s just have a look at what is regarded as quality content according to the SEO standard.

No Duplicate Content- It is necessary to understand the meaning of ‘duplicate’ according to the SEO perspective. Normally a content that is copied from other website word to word is called duplicate. This is certainly true for SEO as well but it tends to go in to further than this. Any content which is original but if it is present on several pages of the same site then it is also considered as duplicate content. It’s like different URL’s for the same web page content. Many a times this happens accidently by website owner but most of the times it a mistake committed by website owners just to add more web pages to their website.

Search Engines index only one page incase if the above mentioned duplicate content is present on multiple web pages of the website. Suppose if there are 5 web pages on your website but all of them have got the ditto content then only one web page will be considered by the search engine. Therefore it will not be indexed as individual page but will be clubbed as one and there goes your golden chance of getting good SERP (Search Engine Result Page).

Another problem with this kind of duplicate content tactic is that one has no clue about which web page has search engine indexed. This will give Search Engine a hand over your website and in short, it can rule your website at least till where the page ranks are concerned. As we all know that page ranks are a life line for SEO. Any issue of this sort can cause severe damage to the impact of entire organic SEO practices such as directory submission, article submission and many more SEO efforts.

Secondly, a duplicate content is also opposed to the terms of service of most of the Search Engines. Hence, if they find that the content present on the website is duplicate then it can penalize your website and therefore provide you with no SERP or worst list you in their blacklist.

The key to successful SEO is hence to publish originally written content on all the different web pages of your website so that all the organic SEO efforts do not go in vain. So now you know the right kind of content that you need to have good SERP.
