They provide expansive guidance and expertise, in areas including quality systems, computer and equipment validation, automated process systems, commissioning and qualification of new and existing facilities, manufacturing, and lab equipment systems.
Opportunity
The client gave PLAVEB the project of developing a comprehensive custom shopping cart application, and integrating it within the existing website. The application needed to feel like a part of the website, yet also have its own unique appeal. The client also wanted us to develop an online developer library marketplace. The marketplace needed to be highly interactive, to allow developers to download software by purchasing it, and then upload it again after integrating additional features.
All in all, PLAVEB needed to design and develop an engaging shopping cart system that was unique in its scope; it had to offer the required features that ensured constructive client-customer and client-customer-developer interaction.
Challenges
- Designing a custom shopping cart that would stand out, yet be perfectly aligned with the existing layout.
- Developing a comprehensive CMS system, allowing the admin to manage all aspects of the shopping cart.
- Custom shopping cart development with PayPal pro payment gateway integration.
- Integrating a right side floating panel.
- Development and implementation of an online developer library marketplace, for both buyers and sellers.
- Ensuring that content updates from CMS did not lead to design inconsistencies.
- Creating a dynamic heading navigation menu with an automatic re-size functionality, that would provide the option to enter ‘n’ number of products.
- Developing a multilingual (4 languages) SEO friendly website, with a consistent design across all translations.
- Implementing a custom question-answers system, integrated with a user points management system, which would give points to users based on their answers.
- Implementing a vote system, to allow individuals to vote for answers posted by other users.
- Designing and developing a custom internal messages system, to facilitate communication between the admin and developers, as well as the developers and customers.
- Designing and developing a secure download system, to ensure that only users who purchase software would be able to download it.
- Providing admin with the option of setting a predetermined expiration date for download links.
Execution
PLAVEB executed the project seamlessly, by closely coordinating with the client at every step of the development process. We began by acquiring an in-depth understanding of the client’s needs and requirements, conducting exhaustive research on all aspects linked in any way with the project. After identifying the core challenges involved, and the diverse software platforms and technologies we would utilize to effectively address
them, we began developing the app. This helped us to ensure that the project matched the client’s expectations perfectly, and that we delivered a solution that incorporated all the features and functionalities specified by the client.
Results
PLAVEB’s team came up with a perfectly designed and developed online shopping cart system that fulfills all of client's objectives and expectations. The combination of an extremely interactive shopping cart, a highly facilitative message system, and a professional online developer library marketplace, provide a one of a kind shopping solution that redefines the way software is bought and sold.
Technical Details
The application was developed using LAMP Technology (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). We also utilized HTML, CSS, jQuery, Google Translate for a Multilingual Website, PayPal pro payment gateway integration, and Ajax, to ensure that the project met with all of the client's specifications.
