" I want to offer users a real life dating experience in an online environment, and accordingly want a solution that is out of the box and offers a great user experience. Also, this dating application shouldn’t use a third party media server. Overall, I want to improve the whole process of enabling users to find the right date, so I want a system that can help fix up two people with the same likes or allow users to search for the right date, based on their preferences.

The bottom line is that I want a state-of-the-art dating application that takes dating to a whole new level altogether. "

Challenges

• Sleek, youthful design with clean, clear, and concise navigation including UI for each section; a design that appeals to individuals interested in online dating
• Enabling free registration, but ensuring dating services can only be used if credits are purchased.
• User profile management module that allows users to define their personal settings.
• Filter and Dating Pool Section that allows registered users to choose compatible dates, or dates based on their specific preferences.
• User dashboard (called 'Black Book') that allows users to keep track of incoming, outgoing, and scheduled dating requests; dating history; and create a list of their favorite dates.
• Enabling users to offer free dates to other users, wherein credits will be charged from their accounts.
• Creating 'send invitation module' where users can send invitations to third parties; if this leads to registration, the users will be rewarded 2 free credits.
• Comprehensive customer service module that allows users to share their dating experience, send feedback/suggestions, participate in satisfaction surveys, and test their webcam.
• Overcoming Time Zone differences, in cases wherein two people interacting through video chat are in different time zones.

"A crucial challenge was developing a custom video chat module with full capabilities including video and audio chat, full screen chat and ensuring the chat doesn’t start until and unless both users are on the chat page. Another core technical challenge was to identify whether the chat was successful or not in the event connection breaks during the chat."
